Care That Complements Your Beauty
Thoughtful preparation and gentle aftercare make all the difference
pre-care
Preparing well ensures the softest, most even results
Following these steps will help your lips heal smoothly and allow pigment to settle beautifully. A calm, well-prepped canvas leads to the best finish.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session to keep lips soft and healthy.
Avoid Excessive Sun/UV Exposure
Protect your lips from direct sunlight or tanning for 1 week before your appointment.
Wait After Other Treatments
Wait 8 weeks after lip filler, retinol, chemical peels, hair removal, or laser treatments around the lips.
Wait 1 year after stopping Accutane (isotretinoin) therapy.
Avoid Certain Medications & Supplements (72 hours prior)
Aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen
Fish oil, vitamin E, niacin (vitamin B3)
Turmeric, ginger
These can increase bleeding. Always consult your doctor before stopping any medications.
Cold Sore Prevention
If you are prone to cold sores, take your prescribed antiviral medication as advised by your doctor.
Gentle Lip Care
Light exfoliation is okay a couple of days before your appointment, followed by a hydrating balm such as Aquaphor, Laneige, or Carmex. Avoid heavy or harsh exfoliation on the day of your session.
Avoid Caffeine & Alcohol
Limit these 24 hours before your appointment to reduce sensitivity and swelling.
Who Is Not a Candidate
❌ Pregnant or nursing individuals
❌ Anyone with active cold sores or infections around the lips
❌ Those with certain medical conditions (uncontrolled diabetes, blood disorders, or skin conditions affecting the lips)
❌ Anyone who has recently had lip filler, retinol, chemical peels, or laser treatments and has not waited the recommended time
❌ Individuals taking blood-thinning medications or supplements without doctor approval
❌ Anyone unable to follow pre- or post-care instructions (e.g., excessive sun exposure or difficulty keeping lips clean and moisturized)
POST-CARE
Gentle care helps your lips heal evenly and naturally
Your lips will go through a short healing process where color softens and settles. These steps support even healing and long-lasting results.
Keep Lips Moisturized
Apply the provided healing balm regularly to maintain comfort and support smooth healing.
Avoid Picking or Peeling
Allow any flaking or scabbing to shed naturally. Picking can cause uneven pigment and scarring.
Protect from Sun/UV
Avoid direct sunlight and tanning for at least 2 weeks. Use a gentle lip balm with SPF once healed.
Avoid Heat & Water Exposure
No saunas, steam rooms, swimming, or hot showers that directly touch the lips for 7–10 days.
Be Gentle with Skincare & Makeup
Avoid retinol, chemical peels, exfoliating agents, or abrasive treatments around the lips until fully healed.
Expect Color Changes
The color will appear darker immediately after treatment and gradually soften over 1–2 weeks. The final result is achieved after full healing.
Follow-Up Appointment
Schedule your touch-up (if needed) after the recommended healing period, typically 6–8 weeks post-session.
